Today I’m playing along and participating in the first Altenew Inspiration challenge of the year. I like Norine’s choice of colors and the story behind it. You will find more details of the challenge and the entries here.
So this is my interpretation of this Inspiration challenge.
- Altenew Hug Me stamp and die set
- Altenew Super Script stamp and die set
- MFT Distress Patterns stamp
- MFT Stitched Rectangles Scallop Frames die set
- Penny Black Snippets stamp
- Altenew Crisp Dye Inks Sea Shore Mini Cube set
- Ranger Distress Inks Blueprint Sketch and Chipped Sapphire
- Derwent Inktense pencils Cadmium Orange, Golden Yellow, Hot Red, Teal Green, Green Aquamarine, Bark
I wanted to use this Altenew Hug Me stamp and die set again so I decided to stamp the cute foxy image with Versafine Onyx Black ink on Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 80lbs card stock. I made sure that the ink was dry before coloring the image with the Inktense pencils. For my coloring I used a white board to disolve some of the pencil lead and applied the color to the card stock using a small brush. In this way I can control the amount of pigment and where it goes. Once done I die cut the image with the coordinating die and set it aside.
For my sentiment I used the Stampmaster as I had to stamp it multiple times to get a good blend and the color intensity. I used the word friend from the Altenew Super Script stamp and the inks from Altenew Sea Shore Mini Cube set for the teals then added some Blueprint Sketch and Chipped Sapphire Distress Inks to achieve enough contrast in my gradient.
I then cut the word with the coordinating die and cut it 3 more times from white card stock which I layered to create a dimensional word.
With my two elements done I turned my attention to the background and decided to add some subtle stamping on a panel of card stock using one of the stamps from MFT Distress Patterns and the 3 clouds from Altenew Hug Me stamp set. I used the lighter color of the Altenew Dye Ink set which is Mountain Mist. I trimmed the stamped panel to a 3’x4′ and adhered to a card base. I wanted more layers so I added an ‘in between’ frame from my MFT Stitched Rectangles Scallop Frames die set at an angle and started layering my other elements. To find out what I mean when referring to an ‘in between’ frame, read this post.
To finish my card I positioned my friend word not forgetting the tittle, then foam mounted my foxy and stamped the Wish Big from Penny Black Snippets stamp. To add some shine to my card I added Glossy Accents to the balloons and my card was done.
I hope you like my interpretation of this inspiration challenge and are playing along with me. I might make another card soon for this challenge, but for now have fun crafting.
